I am absolutely honoured to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school. To quote OFSTED, St Thomas à Becket is “a small school with a big heart” and I can absolutely see this play out in the daily life of the school. We have a dedicated, highly skilled and cohesive team of staff who work brilliantly together to support all of our children. We offer wraparound care from 8:00 with our Early Birds offering and run a variety of after school clubs through the week. With small class sizes, our children are in an excellent position to follow their own interests and thrive. Our End of Key Stage 2 Assessment (SATS) results are recognised by the local authority as some of the highest achieving in Wiltshire.

Being such a small school community, every child is well known to the staff and looked after so well. Personal development, along with academic achievement, is a huge part of our ethos and the levels of pastoral care we offer to our pupils is something we are really proud of. A golden thread that runs through every part of our school are our 6 core Christian values: Friendship, Truth, Forgiveness, Respect, Thankfulness and Perseverance. These are displayed in our classrooms and form the basis of our Collective Worship throughout the year.

We strongly believe education should be inclusive; going beyond supporting children with additional needs or encouraging high flying academic results but fully embracing the needs of every child and our whole school community and doing our best to meet those needs. Striving for the best possible pastoral and academic outcomes for our children and their families, fully preparing children for the next stage of their school lives by the time they leave us in Year 6.

Alongside our amazing staff, we have a wonderfully supportive wider school community of governors, parents and friends of the school who are fully committed to helping the school move forward.

It is an absolute joy to lead St Thomas à Becket School into its next phase of history and we warmly welcome any visitors to the school to see for yourself what an amazing place it is.
