We have high expectations of the children in our school and are proud of their achievements. Although we are one of the county’s smallest schools we remain one of the ones whose standards are at the top of the performance tables which is quite an achievement. This week I was delighted to receive a letter from the Director of Education and Skills at Wiltshire County Council and wanted to share a part of it with you:
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the recently validated outcomes achieved by your pupils in 2018, which are amongst the best primary schools in Wiltshire.
It is very positive to see that you have risen to the challenge of higher expectations with 78% of your KS2 pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics combined. It is also good to that pupil progress is well above the national average for reading and in line writing and mathematics.
We appreciate that these very good outcomes are due to the sustained commitment, hard work and success of your staff, governors and pupils and recognise that they could not have been achieved without your effective leadership and determination to remain focused on school improvement.
I would like to thank the teachers and staff in the school for the amazing job they do; they all work so hard to make our school the best it can be and make sure all our children do flourish.
