The children were fascinated by the visit from Rabbi Zvi who shared details with the children of how he celebrates Jewish festivals during the year and also Friday night Shabbat. This built on and extended the work the children have been doing in their classes.
He turned Kestrel Classroom into a synagogue for the morning to demonstrate how Jewish people worship regularly and in the afternoon it became is ‘dining room’.
The children were full of questions and demonstrated their interest in RE and the extent of their knowledge.
Rabbi Zvi, who visits schools all over the country, was very impressed by St Thomas à Becket. before he left he remarked on how much the children obviously enjoy learning RE, how well they have been taught and how lucky they are to come to this school.
