Times Tables certificates will be awarded when a specific times table is thoroughly learnt (in order, mixed up and also associated division facts). The appropriate certificate will be awarded when everything on that stage is achieved. Please note that all tables are to be learnt up to x 12.
Tests may be oral or written BUT they must be done in school by a teacher. We keep a register so we know which children haven’t been tested/learnt their tables. We do try to test children regularly but this does depend on what is happening in class and we ensure everyone is tested as often as is possible. If children aren’t moving on in their tables we will talk to you about how much homework they are doing.
Please keep practicing past times tables with your child as well as the ones currently being learnt as we find that some children forget them or learn them for a test but then forget them in class when they need to use them.
