Mark 4:31-32 “It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
The parable of the mustard seed is the key biblical story that reflects so much of our school vision and vision statement ‘With wisdom and inspiration, rooted in our Christian Values, we nurture all to flourish.’ It can be a metaphor for our children, who blossom during their time here ready for the next stage of their journey in learning and life. The school is like the mustard tree where each child, like a bird in its branches, is nurtured and enabled to flourish through our teaching, care and support until they have the skills and knowledge to ‘fly away’ to secondary school. Everyone is encouraged to grow within themselves and contribute to the flourishing of the whole school community and beyond. We treat everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve as children of God.
